MADE CONSCIOUSLY, ETHICALLY AND SUSTAINABLY

At Juem, consideration for social and environmental impact is in our nature. We are members of 1% for the planet, donating 1% of our yearly sales revenue to non for profit organisations. We have also partnered with Carbon Positive Australia who independently audited our carbon usage. We then offset our carbon and will continue to offset each year. Juem is now carbon neutral in Australia.

GOTS COTTON

Responsibly and mindfully made with natural GOTS certified organic cotton, each piece is soft on your skin with minimal impact on the environment. We use a small amount of elastane for gentle stretch, allowing ease of movement and fluctuation, kindly moulding to your shape as your body changes.
OEKO-TEX LACE
Juem lace is OEKO-Tex Standard 100 certified, meaning every component of the lace is tested for harmful substances and is therefore harmless for human health. All lace garments are lined with soft, breathable cotton, containing 6% elastane for gentle stretch.

MANUFACTURING

We manufacture in a small family run business, located in Guangzhou, China. We visited before Covid to meet with them and tour their facilities, ensuring they are provided good working conditions, fair hours, and pay. They are audited yearly to comply with BSCI standards.
Our lace garments are manufactured at a small SEDEX Ethical Trade certified manufacturer in Guandong, China. All lace fabrics are OKEO-Tex standard 100 certified.
All workers are ensured a fair wage, good working conditions and hours. We acknowledge that the wage received for a standard workweek by any worker is enough to allow a decent living standard for them and their family. This includes food, water, housing, education, health care, transportation, clothing, and other essential needs including provision for unexpected events. Our suppliers have agreed to and signed our Environmental, Animal Welfare, and Social Policies.

SOCIAL

We have partnered with a local charity donating samples, seconds or end of line products we no longer need. Thread Together offers a hand up to those in need by providing essential clothing at no cost.

“An increasing number of Australians do not have access to essential clothing. According to the Social Policy Research Centre report of 2016, 2.99 million people (13.3% of the population), are living below the poverty line. We believe that clothing performs a vital role in creating brighter futures for those who need it most. "

PACKAGING

As a business where possible we reduce our consumption. Our product is packaged minimally, in place of conventional plastic, all product arrives at our warehouse within boxes in cornstarch packaging which is 100% home compostable. Our orders are then packed and sent out in biodegradable satchels composted by our customer.

Designed by women for women. We are two mothers, working to better our world and our industry for our children and the generations to come. As a young business we are always looking to improve our processes, and we commit to continuously doing so as we grow.
